Carp Fishing

The common carp is a popular game fish that is caught all around the world and South Africa is no exception. Here in South Africa we have an abundance of carp venues all around the country were thousand of anglers try there luck everyday. The Carp are native to Europe and Asia, and belong to the family Cyprinidae and have been introduced to waters all around the world.

Carp thrive in deeper freshwater lakes, dams and rivers. although carp are comfortable in fast moving rivers they prefer slower moving waters. but before you can catch that monster carp you need to know were to find them.

In the summer months oxygen in the water is lower so carp tend to migrate to sallower water where the water is warmer and the oxygen level higher. In the winter months the water is colder and has more oxygen so carp migrate to deeper parts of the dam or river casing the warmer water
